Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy recognized by the US Surgeon General and the American Psychological Association as an effective treatment for autism spectrum disorder. ABA uses data-driven techniques to build communication, social, and daily-living skills through positive reinforcement, breaking complex skills into small, teachable steps.

What ages does BrightBridge ABA serve?

BrightBridge ABA serves clients ages 2 and up across North Carolina, South Carolina, and New Mexico. Research consistently shows that early-intervention ABA (ages 2–5) produces the strongest gains, but school-age, adolescent, and adult programs remain an important part of our practice.

Does insurance cover ABA therapy?

Yes. Medicaid and most major commercial insurance plans cover medically necessary ABA therapy for children with an autism diagnosis across all 50 states. BrightBridge ABA is in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Healthy Blue, Ambetter, Carolina Complete Health, and BlueCross BlueShield, and our insurance team handles benefit verification at no cost to families.

Where does ABA therapy take place?

We deliver ABA therapy in three settings: in-home (the child's natural environment), at our Clemmons, NC clinic, and via telehealth for parent training and consultation. Most clients combine in-home sessions with periodic clinic visits and ongoing family support.

Do I need an autism diagnosis before starting ABA?

Yes. Insurance and Medicaid require a formal autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis from a qualified provider before ABA therapy is funded. If your child hasn't been diagnosed yet, we can point you to developmental pediatricians and diagnostic providers in your area.

How is an ABA treatment plan built?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducts an initial assessment to identify your child's strengths, challenges, and family goals. The BCBA then writes an individualized care plan with specific, measurable objectives, which Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) deliver under ongoing BCBA supervision. Plans are updated continuously based on session data.
